A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven and detail-focused Financial Accountant to join a successful and growing organisation within the facilities and services space. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening controls and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.


The Role

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple entities while supporting month-end, budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting cycles. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, helping the business maintain strong financial governance and performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy of the trial balance, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets and journals
  • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) with variance analysis
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles in line with group requirements
  • Produce monthly board packs and quarterly performance reports
  • Manage intercompany reporting and support IFRS16 submissions
  • Prepare statutory accounts across multiple legal entities
  • Manage year-end audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support capex appraisals
  • Oversee payroll postings and associated account reconciliations
  • Provide financial insights to management around overheads and performance
  • Support wider teams with costing and ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Line manage and mentor an Assistant Accountant


About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
  • Strong experience in statutory reporting, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
  • Detail-driven, proactive and committed to delivering high-quality work


Desirable but not essential

  • Experience within a large organisation or facilities / construction sector
  • Exposure to Microsoft Business Central
  • Experience with tax returns and year-end reporting
