Hire Controller – Equipment Rental

This is a frontline hire desk role in a fast-moving, well-established rental business supplying the construction and industrial sectors. You’ll be at the centre of operations—driving utilisation, controlling the flow of equipment, and delivering the service customers come back for.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Owning hire enquiries from first call to off-hire
• Producing fast, accurate quotes and hire agreements
• Coordinating deliveries and collections with transport and ops
• Working closely with the workshop to ensure fleet readiness and compliance
• Managing off-hires, extensions, and contract changes without delays
• Building long-term customer relationships, not just taking orders
• Driving utilisation and spotting every commercial opportunity
• Resolving issues quickly and professionally
• Keeping the system clean, compliant, and up to date

• Proven experience on a hire desk (plant, tool, or equipment)
