Salary: Up to £55,000 per year + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead research activities throughout the project lifecycle — from discovery to implementation

  • Generate and present insights that support evidence-based decision-making in agile delivery teams
  • Engage with stakeholders to align research goals with user and business needs
  • Facilitate workshops and synthesis sessions to promote empathy and user understanding within delivery teams
  • Analyse both qualitative and quantitative data to inform product or service improvements
  • Work closely with other researchers, designers, product owners, and developers
  • Champion user-centred practices across the organisation and help embed research into delivery processes

Required Experience

  • Proven experience conducting user research across different delivery phases
  • Solid understanding of GDS standards and how they influence service design
  • Ability to work independently as a lead researcher within agile teams
  • Skilled in selecting and applying appropriate research methodologies
  • Comfortable communicating research findings through storytelling and visualisation
  • Familiar with tools used for in-person and remote research, and experience testing concepts using prototypes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills

This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping user-focused digital services in the public sector.
