Position Summary

  • Provide technical expertise Resolve technical queries and ensure Satisfactory
  • Proficient in preparing and checking design deliverables within the budget hours/Norms and schedule
  • Competent in completing site surveys and interpret survey data/document in completion of design deliverables
  • Responsible for a number of other design personnel, ensuring work scope delivery and technical quality
  • Provide input to project planning as part of the team for achieving the target and completion within the budget and schedule; ensuring that all design work is carried out in accordance with priorities and schedules
  • Plan, budget and coordinate resources, contribute to the development of plans, schedules and estimates for the individual work scopes.
  • Skilled at preparing design scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
  • Reporting on job progress as well as reviewing progress and cost reports regarding design activities.
  • Comply with relevant codes of conduct
  • Ensure that all work complies with the Company and Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Report any incidents/near misses, hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, or positive behaviour to a responsible person immediately, and participate in incident investigations where required
  • Actively participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HSE audits, and other relevant meetings where required
  • Perform work responsibly, taking account of environmental, social and economic requirements

Qualifications

Highest Qualifications

  • HND or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline with sufficient post-qualification experience to be considered as highly skilled.
  • Some supervisory experience preferable.
  • ECITB Modern Apprenticeship Scheme preferred

Lowest Qualifications

  • Holds an ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline with sufficient post-qualification experience to be considered as highly skilled.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferrable.
  • ECITB Modern Apprenticeship Scheme preferred

Knowledge, Competencies, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

  • Conversant and Knowledgeable of Design Principles, offshore operations, maintenance layout and plant design including but not limited to : piping systems, pressure ratings and applications, piping survey techniques, understanding and application of pipe stress software, understanding and application of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), other associated equipment with the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Proficient and Knowledgeable of regulatory framework and legislation
  • Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and where appliable client codes and standards.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk ReCap
  • Ability to understand client requirements, proficient in scope definition through Concept/FEED/Detailed Design and support fabrication and construction
  • Competent in respect of constructability to support fabrication and construction
  • Foster positive and effective working relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Proficient in various applicable design software systems and Microsoft packages
  • Good interpersonal skills - Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Sound time and resource management skills
  • Cognisant of business requirements and needs and adaptable to changing environment and business requirements
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations
  • Able to travel in UK and abroad, as well as offshore
