Senior Business Development Representative

Location: London (Hybrid, Post-Probation)

Engagement: Permanent Role

Package & Compensation

  • Base Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 p.a. (Dependent upon experience)
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): Up to £20,000 p.a. (Performance based)

Equals Five is looking for a Senior Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive growth for a highly reputable and rapidly growing cloud native consulting and engineering firm.


This organisation specialises in designing, modernising, and operating advanced cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, supporting enterprise clients through digital transformation, cloud migration, DevOps adoption, and managed services.

This is a permanent onsite role based in London, ideal for someone passionate about outbound prospecting, omnichannel engagement, and measurable sales pipeline growth. You will play a key role in expanding the UK customer base and strengthening the company’s leadership position in cloud consulting and enterprise selling.


What You Will Do

As a Senior Business Development Representative, you will:


  • Generate and qualify new business leads through structured, high volume outbound activity across multiple channels including email, LinkedIn, phone, and events.
  • Design, run, and refine sales cadences to boost connection rates and optimise conversions from prospect to qualified opportunity.
  • Engage senior technical decision-makers including CTOs, CIOs, Heads of Engineering, Cloud Leaders, and Architects.
  • Conduct high-quality qualification conversations using frameworks such as MEDDICC, SPICED, or BANTA.
  • Execute omnichannel outreach campaigns integrating personalised messaging with marketing automation tools, CRM workflows, and social selling strategies.
  • Develop targeted outreach sequences that clearly articulate the value of cloud-native engineering, DevOps, IaC, Kubernetes, and Azure consulting services.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align outbound efforts with campaign content, nurture sequences, and brand positioning.
  • Use CRM platforms (HubSpot or Salesforce) to manage data, track performance, and produce actionable insights.
  • Conduct detailed account research to identify prospect needs, buying triggers, and decision-making hierarchies
  • Craft value led messaging focused on sustainability, efficiency, and cost saving opportunities.
  • Schedule discovery calls for the senior sales team, ensuring a seamless handover of qualified opportunities.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics including qualified leads, meetings booked, conversion ratios, and campaign ROI.
  • Continuously test and adopt new outreach methods, automation tools, and messaging techniques to improve performance.


What We Are Looking For

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in BDR/SDR or inside sales role within technology, SaaS, cloud consulting, or IT services.
  • A proven record of exceeding activity and pipeline targets, with measurable results in generating qualified opportunities.
  • Hands on experience with sales engagement tools such as HubSpot Sequences, SalesLoft, or Outreach.
  • Confident engaging technical stakeholders in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel engagement strategies, including phone, email, LinkedIn, and social selling.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.


Marketing Alignment and Data Fluency:

  • Experience working with marketing teams to align messaging, campaigns, and lead nurturing workflows.
  • Skilled in using CRM analytics and dashboards to monitor engagement, conversion trends, and pipeline velocity.
  • Familiarity with lead scoring and data enrichment tools, for example LinkedIn Sales Navigator.


Commercial Awareness and Communication

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and consultative questioning skills.
  • Ability to translate technical or sustainability focused propositions into compelling commercial value.
  • Resilient, inquisitive, and self-motivated, with a continuous improvement mindset.
