Impax Recruitment is looking for an Equity Options Trader in London Area
Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new options and volatility trading opportunities across listed index products
- Manage risk and performance across a sizable portfolio of index options
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve execution quality, system robustness, and latency
- Work alongside quantitative researchers and other traders to enhance and evolve existing strategies
- Support the growth of the desk by mentoring less experienced traders and researchers
Candidate Profile
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in high-volume index options market making
- Deep knowledge of volatility dynamics and the ability to trade both short-term dislocations and longer-term mispricings
- Strong understanding of portfolio risk, Greeks, and tail exposures in large options books
- Experience operating and continuously improving automated, distributed trading systems
- Familiarity with exchange microstructure and connectivity protocols to achieve best execution
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure trading environments
- Motivated to take ownership and play a leading role in building a growing options platform
- Programming experience in Python and/or C++
- Meticulous attention to detail and operational rigor
