Financial Accountant required for a leading UK services group (Hybrid)
£60,000 – £65,000 + bonus + benefits
We are partnering with a well-established and growing PE backed UK services group operating across both the private and public sectors. With a strong track record of growth, continued investment and a clear focus on sustainability and operational excellence, the business plays a key role in delivering essential services nationwide. Finance is central to supporting capital investment, governance and long-term scalable growth.
As Financial Accountant, you will play a key role within the group finance function, taking ownership of capital expenditure, fleet and lease accounting while supporting robust financial control and technical accounting across the business. This role offers a strong blend of technical accounting, stakeholder partnering and process improvement within a complex, multi-site organisation.
Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting, you will act as a subject matter expert across capex and asset accounting, working closely with Finance, Fleet, IT and external advisors.
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across functions
- Experience with SAP B1 and acquisition integration desirable
- Proactive, detail-focused and process-driven approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of capex, fleet and asset accounting across the group
- Monthly reporting, depreciation, asset disposals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Budgeting and forecasting of capex, leases and hire purchase costs
- Monitoring spend against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis
- Group cash flow forecasting and debt covenant reporting
- Review of statutory accounts alongside outsourced auditors
- Acting as finance business partner to Fleet, Asset and IT teams
- Supporting acquisition integration relating to assets and leasing arrangements
- Driving continuous improvement across controls, processes and financial systems
- Providing technical accounting support and ad-hoc project input to senior finance leadership
