Role Description

CMT London is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated, and relationship-driven Workshop Installer to assist with the installation and maintenance of payment system hardware in vehicles. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, and testing payment device hardware, performing electrical wiring tasks, troubleshooting issues, and providing training and support to clients. Additionally, the role involves managing workshop projects efficiently and ensuring the successful implementation of cutting-edge vehicle technology systems.


We are seeking a Workshop Installer to support the installation and maintenance of advanced payment systems, taxi meters, and CCTV cameras in London Black Cabs. This hands-on role involves working primarily at our Canning Town workshop, with occasional installations at remote sites across London.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install payment systems, taxi meters, and CCTV equipment in vehicles.
  • Provide driver training and demonstrations on newly installed systems.
  • Support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and fault-finding.
  • Assist with stock control, equipment preparation, and workshop organisation.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, ensuring systems are explained clearly and confidently.


Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in auto-electrical installation or vehicle technology is desirable, but not essential (full training provided).
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently with initiative.
  • Competence with hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic computer literacy (training provided).
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (essential for driver training).
