The Opportunity
A leading Legal 500 international firm is looking to appoint a Employment Partner to join its Employment team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a role with immediate responsibility for high-profile clients and complex, market-leading matters. The successful candidate will have the ability to combine technical excellence with commercial insight, working on both strategic advisory work and contentious employment issues across multiple sectors.
The Role
As Employment Partner, you will lead major employment mandates for national and multinational clients, advising on high-value advisory and transactional work, as well as managing select contentious matters. You will collaborate closely with Corporate, Private Equity, and HR teams on M&A, restructurings, TUPE, executive exits, and cross-border workforce projects. In addition, you will drive business development, expand client relationships, and play a central role in shaping the future of the Employment practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on high-value, complex employment advisory and transactional matters for major clients.
- Manage contentious employment cases, including tribunals, high-stakes litigation, and senior executive disputes.
- Act as the go-to adviser on TUPE, restructurings, workforce integration, and strategic HR matters.
- Work closely with Corporate and Private Equity teams on M&A and other corporate transactions.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team of associates and senior lawyers.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, generating new business opportunities.
- Contribute to the strategic growth and market positioning of the Employment practice.
About You
- 10+ years PQE with extensive experience in both advisory and contentious employment work.
- Proven track record of leading high-value, complex employment matters and advising senior stakeholders.
- Strong network within top-tier clients, corporates, and HR leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and grow a team while contributing to practice strategy.
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and judgement in complex cases.
- Exceptional communicator with the gravitas to advise boards and senior management.
