Job Purpose

The Regional Response Controller provides an emergency service for operational teams across the North West region as and when required. This role is key to ensuring customer and regulatory targets around CMEX and customer minutes lost are achieved. They do this by providing alternative solutions to mitigate interruptions to customer supplies. Including driving and operating the alternative supply vehicles, overland support vehicles, delivery and installation of pumps, and bottled water.

The operational hours of the Regional Response Team are 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. You will be required to work a shift pattern comprising 10 hour shifts of morning, afternoon and evening which will average 37 hours per week.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Delivery, installation and operation of emergency plant, utilising HGVs, pumps, Overland vehicles and Arlingtons
  • Maintenance of emergency plant stores and equipment
  • Disinfection of alternative supply equipment (tanks & pipe work)
  • Compliance with good practice H&S processes associated with equipment and processes required of the job.
  • Respond to planned and reactive requests
  • Maintaining and delivery of strategic bottled water stocks.
  • Provide alternative supplies to key customers
  • Liaise with agency drivers on site to ensure that they are familiar with vehicles, that they follow H & S procedures, that they know and understand their responsibilities. Work with agency/contractor drivers out of hours to ensure that the Business gets the best use out of them
  • Liaise with customers on site of injection/fill point to inform them about the event
  • Create alternative supply contingency plans for Tier 1 sensitive customers

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Good understanding of the use and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Demonstrate high regard for H&S policy and procedures
  • Flexible approach to the working day.
  • Class 1 HGV licence and current CPC
  • Good understanding of the water network
