User Interface Designer

Basket is looking for an User Interface Designer in United Kingdom

Job description

Product Designer (UI-Focused, Fashion & Gen Z)

Location: UK or Remote

Type: Full-time

Company: Basket (early-stage, high-growth)

We’re looking for a standout Product Designer with exceptional UI skills and a strong instinct for Gen Z taste. This role is about building beautiful, opinionated interfaces for a fashion-first product, and helping shape how the brand looks, feels, and evolves as we scale.

You’ll be deeply embedded in the product team, working closely with founders and engineers, and you’ll have real influence over both the product direction and the visual identity of the company.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing polished, high-quality UIs for a Gen Z audience, with a strong focus on fashion, aesthetics, and cultural relevance
  • Owning the end-to-end design process, from early concepts and flows through to high-fidelity UI and handoff
  • Working hands-on with our core product, contributing directly to how features look, feel, and evolve over time
  • Helping define and evolve our design system, visual language, and interaction patterns
  • Turning your hand to marketing collateral when needed, including landing pages, app store assets, social content, pitch decks, and campaign visuals
  • Collaborating closely with engineering to ensure designs are buildable, performant, and true to intent
  • Bringing ideas proactively, not just executing briefs, and helping push the product forward creatively

What we’re looking for

  • Strong UI design skills, with a portfolio that shows taste, clarity, and attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in fashion, culture, and Gen Z products, you should care deeply about how things look and how they’re perceived
  • Experience designing consumer products, ideally mobile-first
  • Confident working in Figma as your primary design tool
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, early-stage environments where things evolve quickly
  • Happy to work across product and marketing, and switch contexts when needed
  • Confident collaborating with founders and engineers, and able to articulate design decisions clearly
  • Curiosity around AI tools, or a willingness to jump in head first and experiment as part of your workflow

Nice to have

  • Basic motion or animation skills, such as micro-interactions, transitions, or simple prototypes
  • Some experience working in Webflow
  • Experience working on fashion, lifestyle, or creator-led products
  • An understanding of social-first design and shareable moments
  • Previous experience at an early-stage startup

Why this role is exciting

  • You’ll have real ownership and influence, this is not a pixel-pushing role
  • You’ll help define a product and brand from an early stage
  • Your work will be seen and used by a large and growing audience
  • You’ll be part of a small, ambitious team building something culturally relevant
