Employment Tax Advisor - Leeds

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Tax Advisor to join our growing Employment Tax advisory team in Leeds. This is a pure advisory role, offering the opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-value projects for a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients, without responsibility for routine compliance work.

You will play a key role in delivering strategic employment tax advice, supporting clients through complex people-related tax issues, and contributing to the continued growth of the advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide employment tax advisory support across a broad range of issues, including:
• Employment status and IR35/off-payroll working
• Termination payments and exit planning
• Share plans and incentives
• Pay structures, benefits and reward strategy
• National Minimum Wage and employment tax risk reviews
• Employment tax considerations in corporate transactions
• Work closely with HR, Reward, Legal and Corporate Tax teams to deliver joined-up advisory solutions
• Manage and deliver employment tax projects from scoping through to completion
• Draft high-quality technical advice and client-facing reports
• Support clients during HMRC enquiries from an advisory and strategic perspective (no hands-on compliance)
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
• Contribute to business development initiatives, proposals and thought leadership
• Mentor and support junior team members as required

About You

• CTA qualified, part-qualified, or with strong demonstrable employment tax advisory experience
• Proven experience in employment tax advisory within a professional services or in-house environment
• Strong technical knowledge across UK employment tax matters
• Confident communicator, able to explain complex issues clearly to non-tax specialists
• Commercially minded, with a client-focused approach
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, advisory-led environment
