PMO Officer x 2 (Delivery Support & Analytics/Reporting)

Swindon Borough Council is looking for an PMO Officer x 2 (Delivery Support & Analytics/Reporting) in Swindon

Job description

Help shape one of the most ambitious whole-Council transformations in local government.

Swindon Borough Council is on an ambitious journey to transform how we deliver services, guided by the new Swindon Plan and driven by what matters to our communities and businesses. As part of our friendly, forward-looking organisation, you’ll help shape decisions that have real impact—improving services, strengthening processes and enhancing quality of life across the town.

Your next role

We’re recruiting two PMO Officers, each playing a vital role within our Transformation PMO:

  • PMO Officer – Delivery Support
  • PMO Officer – Analytics & Reporting

Together, these roles ensure our transformation workstreams are well-governed, well-supported and well-informed. Whether you focus on hands-on project delivery support or data-driven reporting and insight, you’ll help keep one of local government’s most ambitious transformation programmes moving at pace.

You’ll work closely with Senior PMO Officers, project teams and leaders across the Council, bringing structure, consistency and clarity to a programme that reaches every service and every community.

Skills And Experience – PMO Officer (Delivery Support)

You’ll support the design, planning and delivery of transformation workstreams by applying consistent PMO standards, maintaining plans, RAID logs and documentation, and preparing accurate inputs for governance reporting. With experience in project or programme support, you’ll bring strong organisational skills, familiarity with tools and methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2/Agile), and the ability to manage competing priorities. You’ll help facilitate workshops, monitor risks and dependencies, and contribute to continuous improvement of PMO processes and templates. Proactive and collaborative, you’ll build effective relationships across services and promote consistent, best-practice delivery.

Skills & Experience – PMO Officer (Analytics & Reporting)

You’ll turn programme data into clear and reliable insight by developing dashboards, reporting frameworks and performance metrics, and producing timely reports on progress, risks, issues, benefits and dependencies. With experience in programme or performance reporting, you’ll bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and confidence using Excel, Power BI and similar tools. You’ll validate data, track benefits and risks, support assurance reviews and provide clear commentary to inform decision-making. Methodical and collaborative, you’ll work accurately to deadlines and help refine PMO reporting tools and processes.
