We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join the healthcare team at HMP Preston on a part time basis. HMP Preston is a Category B male remand prison in Preston city centre! We offer a supportive, fast paced, challenging environment where no two days are the same.

This is a fast paced, high volume role, where you will have changing priorities and a very varied workload! Is it challenging....Yes! It is rewarding....definitely!

Hours

This is a part time role, working 28 hours per week. Shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 08:30 - 16:00

Salary

This position is part time, you’ll receive an annual pay from £25,821 - £28,574 per annum FTE (will be pro rata for 28 hours) - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As Our New Administrator, Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Provide excellent admin support to the healthcare team onsite across the pathways
  • Work on the healthcare system (SystmOne) - inputting referrals and ensuring records are accurate, as well as running reports
  • Deal with internal and external colleagues, including hospitals, GPs, probation and the prison team via email and phone
  • Assist with patient release and transfer, ensuring continuity of care - this includes referrals, electronic prescribing and liaising with the community drug team
  • Attend meetings and take minutes as necessary

Our New Administrator Will Have

  • Experience within an administrative role - any experience in a healthcare environment would be an advantage, such as a hospital or GP surgery
  • Any experience of using SystmOne would be a bonus!
  • Minute taking experience would be beneficial
  • Be happy to work in a diverse environment, with lots of different colleagues across both healthcare and the wider prison
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word etc)
