Workshop Fitter

Osprey Engineering Solutions is looking for an Workshop Fitter in Warrington

Job description

Job Purpose

  • Strip down and assess pumps for repair.
  • Work with admin staff and the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Complete Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and related documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assess pump repairs and determine required spare parts.
  • Rebuild pumps as needed.
  • Communicate with internal teams.
  • Join the on-call team (typically 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 weeks).
  • Visit customer sites and other workshops for support.
  • Ensure accurate and timely assessments of pumps.
  • Maintain high standards in health, safety, environment, and housekeeping.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in processes.
  • Be willing to work away from home if needed.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Mechanical apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience with pump repair and general engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering measuring equipment.
  • Health & safety training.

Desirable:

  • Electrical training.
  • BTEC National Certificate/Advanced Diploma.
  • Safety passport.
  • Pump OEM training.
  • Experience with laser alignment and site work.
  • Ability to write failure reports and quotations for clients.
  • Experience liaising with site engineers/managers.
