Financial Accountant

Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who is keen to broaden their experience, contribute to key commercial initiatives, and develop towards a future business-partnering role .

As Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and providing insight to help the business achieve its strategic objectives. With ongoing site growth, the role offers exposure to a range of exciting commercial and capital projects .

You will work closely with the Finance Director and wider finance team to produce high-quality management information, forecasts, and analysis that support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete key elements of recurring month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed assets, prepayments, and liabilities
• Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports
• Analyse cost centre budgets, including MI on headcount and utility trends, providing meaningful insights to management
• Manage essential internal processes such as new project and capital expenditure requests
• Support the Finance Director with capex assessments and ROI evaluations
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting through data gathering, trend analysis, and business partnering with site management
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and information ✔
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations ⚖

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience working within a finance team to deliver month-end close processes
• Strong background in balance sheet reconciliations and internal financial reporting
