As an Apprentice Operations Coordinator you’ll work in our fun and diverse environment, whilst learning new skills every day. You'll be part of a team dedicated to making sure that we deliver great service to our customers and that they have a fantastic experience throughout their customer journey.

Key accountabilities:

 

  • Working as part of the Operations Team you’ll offer front line support for Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors and Freedom Consortia Members across each department
  • Effectively and professionally deal with queries from internal and external customers by telephone and email
  • Be responsible for amendments to bookings if necessary
  • Take ownership of personal projects, targets and KPIs and contribute towards team targets

As an Apprentice Operations Coordinator, you’ll earn a salary whilst you learn. Not only will you achieve a nationally recognised qualification (Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration), you’ll also gain real life work experience, which will form the foundation of your career.

 

You’ll need to be prepared to work hard, learn on the job and adapt quickly to change. You’ll receive dedicated training but you must have the desire and determination to succeed in a service orientated environment, providing a fantastic experience to customers. You’ll also need to use technology to demonstrate your digital skills in a fast paced environment.

 

What you’ll need:

 

To join us you’ll need to demonstrate a passion for travel and delivering an excellent service to our customers. You’ll need to be a first class communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers. You’ll also need to demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and show initiative when solving problems.

 

We use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint so you’ll need to be competent with using all of these and have great IT skills.

 

You must commit to successfully completing the Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration. You’ll need to actively participate in training workshops and complete work towards your qualification within the agreed timescales. As part of the apprenticeship you may also be required to work towards qualifications in functional skills  in English, maths and ICT. Although support will be provided, you’ll also be required to take responsibility for your own personal development and keep up to date with the products and services we offer.

 

To apply, you must:

 

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Have GCSE grades or predicted grades of A* - C in maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Have the right to work in England
  • Be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EEA and have lived there for at least the last three years
  • Not have completed any other business administration NVQ or apprenticeship

 

Role details:

  • A 12 month apprenticeship with the opportunity of a permanent position (dependent upon overall performance and qualification achievement)
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Starting salary - £8,000 per annum, plus company benefits and holiday discounts

*Your start date will be shortly after you receive your offer of employment from us.

 

As part of our selection process you’ll be asked to complete an online test. If you successfully pass this, you may be invited in for an interview at one of our Thomas Cook offices.
