Warehouse Operative - New Warehouse - Exeter

Job description

As a dedicated Warehouse Operative, you’ll take pride in matching supply and demand 24/7, keeping our 660+ UK stores fully stocked and our customers happy. You’ll maintain the uninterrupted flow of goods in and out of our warehouses, you’ll ensure stock is received, stored, packed and transported according to the highest standards.

What will you do?

Warehouse Operatives (Goods In, Selection, Goods Out) – Start Dates from 14.08.17 or 22.09.17

Goods In
The first link in our supply chain, the goods in department who are responsible for all stock delivered to our warehouse. Join the team and you’ll carry out accuracy and quality checks on all deliveries. The role requires good numerical skills, a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Selection Operative
You’ll use our pick by voice technology to ensure that stock is processed safely and efficiently, keeping our stores stocked with exactly what they need.

Comprising around 150-200 people in each warehouse, selection is the largest department within Logistics. Become part of the team and you’ll ensure stores receive the stock they want. This will involve picking the stock and making sure that it is processed safely and efficiently for transport.

Goods Out
Goods out is the department that ensures the products are transported from the warehouse to our stores so that our customers can always buy what they need. It’s a busy area filled with continuous challenges. To keep things running smoothly, you’ll need to be highly adaptable with excellent organisational skills.

We want to make sure you have all the training you need to join our high-performing, fast-paced warehouse team so we’ll start by sending you on an intensive all-expenses-paid program at one of our other pioneering warehouses, to prepare you for your future with Lidl UK. The training period will either run from mid-July for 7 weeks or mid-August for 4 weeks. You will be required to stay away for 4 nights a week throughout the training period. You will then return to Exeter and join the team on a 35 hour contract.

  • Starting salary £8.45 per hour with the opportunity to earn up to £9.79 per hour
