The role

To provide scientific support for one or more categories marketed by L’Oréal UK and Ireland (skin care, hair care, hair colorants, professional, luxury and active cosmetic divisions). The team works with every single brand to enable the strongest and most compelling claims on every innovation we have. With a clear understanding of the regulations we are the source of scientific expertise for the UK

 

Key elements to your role:

A fast paced collaborative role working across a number of categories (Skincare, Hair care, Colorants, Professional, Luxury sun protection and active cosmetics) and a wide range of brands. The team is at the heart of the communication of the product performance. The role is ever changing to meet the needs of the business and our consumers, understanding the science behind our products and working with some of the leading scientists and researchers in the world to make the strongest possible claims on communication in line with European and UK Regulatory requirements.

 

  • You will work with Marketing and PR Departments for all Divisions and also Customer/Trade teams
  • Working with Key Opinion formers and authorities with in the UK
  • Clearcast for submissions of all advertising clearance dossiers
  • ASA for defence of any technical challenge to L’Oréal claims
  • RACC for submissions of all radio advertising clearance dossiers
  • Media Agencies for liaisons with Clearcast and RACC
  • Collaboration with international Claims groups, Regulatory groups
  • R&D Laboratories in France and USA


Who we’re looking for

 

Along with a scientific background and experience in the cosmetic industry - a passion for the products in our business is essential:

  • Excellent command of the English language and its subtleties
  • Articulate and able to express ideas and concepts fluently
  • Ability to understand scientific material, internalise it rapidly and “translating” it into simple consumer language
  • Integrity and honesty putting the consumer at the heart of everything you do
  • Confident and resilient
  • High degree of analytical skills and think through creative solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capable of building good effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Very diplomatic and tactful.
  • Excellent product knowledge and techniques used for claims substantiation.
