Recruitment and Placement Officer

MetaGedu Apprenticeships is looking for a Recruitment and Placement Officer

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Candidate Resourcing & Recruitment:

  • Source apprenticeship candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and internal databases.
  • Screen candidates via telephone, video, and face-to-face interviews.
  • Assess candidate suitability against apprenticeship standards and employer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records on CRM system.


Apprentice Placement & Matching:

  • Match candidates to appropriate apprenticeship vacancies.
  • Prepare candidates for interviews (CV support, interview guidance, expectations).
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and employers.
  • Support successful onboarding and placement of apprentices.


Employer & Stakeholder Support:

  • Liaise with employers to understand vacancy requirements and workforce needs.
  • Provide timely updates to employers on candidate progress.
  • Support employer engagement teams with vacancy fulfilment.


Administration & Compliance:

  • Ensure all candidate documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Support eligibility checks and right-to-work requirements.
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant records.
  • Track placement outcomes and report on KPIs.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to improving recruitment and placement processes.
  • Support marketing and outreach activities to attract new applicants.
  • Participate in training and development as part of the apprenticeship programme.


Skills & Attributes:

Essential:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised with good attention to detail.
  • Confident using IT systems (MS Office, CRM databases).
  • Ability to manage multiple candidates and priorities.
  • Professional, proactive, and customer-focused.


Desirable:

  • Interest in recruitment, HR, or apprenticeships.
  • Experience of working in an office or customer-facing role.
  • Familiarity with social media recruitment platforms.
