Role Title: Technical Business Analyst

Location: London (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration: Until 30/09/2026


Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in data management and banking & capital markets. The role involves close collaboration with business and technology teams to deliver data-driven solutions supporting trading, risk, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency within the banking and financial services sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to banking products and services.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, including logical designs and user stories for development teams.
  • Conduct gap analysis, impact analysis, and feasibility studies for new initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and data models.
  • Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation to support solution design and regulatory reporting.
  • Facilitate workshops, create process flows, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, QA teams, and Project Managers to ensure successful delivery.


Required Skills & Experience

Banking & Capital Markets Knowledge (Mandatory)

  • Strong understanding of banking and capital markets.
  • Proven experience across key banking data domains, including:
  • Instrument data
  • Trade data
  • Party / Counterparty data
  • Product and Arrangement data
  • Books and Legal Entity structures
  • Reference data (e.g. Geography, Currency, Holidays)


Regulatory Knowledge (Mandatory)

  • Experience working with regulatory reporting or regulatory data within banking.
  • Familiarity with EMEA regulatory frameworks, particularly:
  • ECB reporting
  • BCBS 239 (Risk Data Aggregation and Reporting)


Business Analysis Skills

  • Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to produce FRDs and user stories for Agile delivery.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Relational database concepts
  • Data modelling
  • ETL processes
  • Data governance principles


Tools & Methodologies

  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau (desirable).


Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Experience with risk or trading systems such as Murex or Calypso.


Key Focus Areas

  • Strong understanding of banking and capital markets data domains.
  • Familiarity with EMEA regulatory frameworks, particularly ECB and BCBS 239.
