Site Manager – Substations

Wales (Site-based)

12-month contract | Immediate start

£550 per day – Outside IR35


We’re recruiting an experienced Site Manager for a major UK energy project with a tier-one client. You’ll take a leading role on site, coordinating supervisors, teams, and work fronts while ensuring delivery to time, cost & quality.


What you’ll be doing

  • Lead all site activities on behalf of senior site/project management
  • Coordinate mechanical & electrical installation teams
  • Ensure full compliance with QEHS, site rules, and project plans
  • Proactively manage programme risks and interface with other work parties
  • Lead by example on safety, documentation, and site standards


✅ Essential experience & tickets (must-haves)

  • National Grid substation experience (non-negotiable)
  • SMSTS | CSCS | First Aid | HSG47 | TP137
  • NG Competent Person (NSI6 / NSI8 – limited acceptable)
  • Strong background in electricity supply / substations / power projects
  • Proven ability to lead site teams and manage supervisors


Background

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) + supervisory experience OR
  • Degree qualified with supervisory experience in power, O&G, or construction
  • Solid knowledge of UK H&S, environmental and quality standards
