Data Protection Officer

Job description

Our client is looking for a forward‑thinking Data Protection Officer with the confidence and expertise to lead their privacy framework, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed robust data protection practices across the business.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and global cross‑functional teams, offering strategic guidance and hands‑on support in small but fast paced environment.

Key Experience Required

• Proven experience developing and implementing data protection policies, strategies, and operating models.
• A recognised data protection qualification, such as BCS, CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear guidance.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and assurance activities within a global organisation.
• Experience using data protection workflow management tools.
• Financial services experience or another highly regulated sector.
• Excellent knowledge of UK, EU, and Middle Eastern data protection laws and regulatory requirements.
