Trainee Transport Scheduler

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Trainee Transport Scheduler to join our growing transport and logistics team.

35 - 50 hours per week
£28,000 Per Year

What are you going to do:

You don’t need previous experience in transport — we’re looking for someone with good A-levels (or equivalent), a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop valuable skills in scheduling, planning, and logistics operations.

 
 

What You’ll Be Learning & Doing :

With support from the Transport Manager and wider team, you will learn how to:

Assist in planning and updating daily transport schedules
Communicate with drivers to help ensure deliveries run smoothly
Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates when required
Monitor vehicle movements and report any delays or issues
Keep accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery times
Learn how transport and logistics software systems work
Support compliance with transport regulations and company procedures
Help schedule appointments for the on-site workshop and liaise with workshop staff

This is a hands-on role where you’ll gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence and knowledge grow.

Who We’re Looking For :

This role would suit someone who:

Has good A-levels or equivalent qualifications
Has a genuine interest in transport, logistics, or operations
Is organised, reliable, and pays attention to detail
Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems
Communicates clearly and professionally, both in person and by email/phone
Can stay calm when things get busy and manage more than one task at a time
Is happy with occasional lone working once fully trained

No previous transport experience is required — attitude and willingness to learn are more important than experience.

 
 

Working Conditions :

Office-based role at Jack’s Hill Café, Towcester
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support transport schedules
