Business Development Manager – Apprenticeships (Construction Focus)

Location: Hybrid / Remote (UK) | Office Visits: 1–2 per month in Bedfordshire

Salary: Up to £40,000 + OTE £60,000


Are you a natural hunter with a passion for driving new business and maximising existing accounts? Do you have a proven track record in apprenticeship sales and a strong understanding of funding routes? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark in the Apprenticeship sector, with a focus on Construction Apprenticeships.


We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to work with small to medium-sized Independent Training Provider (ITP), grow new business, and lead a small sales team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business opportunities and expand the client base within the apprenticeship sector.
  • Manage and develop existing accounts to maximise revenue and learner engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate one Sales Executive to deliver exceptional results.
  • Advise clients on apprenticeship programmes, funding options, and sector changes.
  • Attend networking meetings, industry forums, and sector events to maintain sector awareness and build relationships.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for bids and tenders to secure new business.
  • Visit client offices 1–2 times per month (Bedfordshire) to build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Monitor sales performance, set targets, and report on progress.


What we are looking for:

  • Experienced in apprenticeship sales, ideally with a focus on Construction.
  • Proven ability to hit and exceed sales targets.
  • Confident leading a small team and motivating colleagues.
  • Knowledgeable about apprenticeship funding, contracts, and compliance.
  • Excellent communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Must have own transport and a full UK driving licence.
