Business Development Officer
We are currently looking for a Business Development Officer to join our head office team in London. This role is for a confident communicator with a natural talent for sales and marketing. We are looking for an advocate for Chocolate Films who is passionate & committed to the work we do.
Chocolate Films is a unique creative social business. We are a full service video production and animation company with bases in London & Glasgow. Established for over 25 years, Chocolate Films creates impactful content for a range of sectors, including Arts& Culture, Environment and Education. We have a talented in-house team. As a social enterprise our profits support a video workshop programme for children and young people.
This is a role for a sales professional with:
- An enthusiastic, positive attitude and great communication skills.
- A good understanding of video production processes and the current video landscape
- A strong creative mind and excellent writing skills.
- A thorough understanding of budgeting, finance and business efficiency
- A deep understanding of sales and new client negotiation
- The desire and ability to help Chocolate Films clients achieve their video goals.
The role will include a range of activities to generate new clients and new business for the company.
You’ll be:
- Responding to sales enquiries and proactively seeking out new clients.
- Working with filmmakers and animators to develop treatments and ideas for new projects.
- Writing proposals and quotes for a range of commissions from quick turnaround jobs and long-term documentary projects, writing tenders, costing up streaming jobs and booking Nine Elms Studio dry and wet hire
- Preparing and leading pitches and interviews for new clients.
- Developing templates, briefing documents and more to support the sales process
- Working with the wider team to plan content and updates for our digital presence.
- Working within the HubSpot CRM to monitor and manage sales performance.
- Forecasting and reporting- tracking sales performance and providing regular updates to the Directors
Desired skills include:
- Experience using CRM software, particularly HubSpot and excellent knowledge of G-Suite
- Communication- exceptional verbal and written skills including the ability to write compelling business proposals
- Negotiation- Proven ability to negotiate commercial terms and contracts
- Resilience: High level of self motivation and the ability to handle typical rejection inherent in creative sales
Payment: Annual salary of £35,000- £40,000 depending on experience.
Terms: Full-time, following an initial 6 months probationary period.
Location: Chocolate Films studio Nine Elms Studio, SW11 7BA (Battersea).
Regular working week Monday to Friday 9.00 – 6pm.
Holidays: 20 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays.
