Site Manager / Engineer

Location: Whipps Cross Hospital, London

Reporting to: Contract Manager


Our Client is looking for an experienced Site Manager / Engineer to take responsibility for service delivery and day-to-day site management at Whipps Cross Hospital


This is a hands-on leadership role combining engineering expertise, people management, and client-facing responsibility within a busy NHS environment.


The Role

You will manage all service and maintenance activity on site, working closely with the Contract Manager and Trust stakeholders to ensure contractual KPIs are met and exceeded. You’ll also lead and support a small team of Installer/Collectors, ensuring professionalism, productivity, and compliance at all times.


You will act as the Contract Manager’s key representative on site, providing visibility, escalation, and operational support across the Trust when required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair medical equipment and approved third-party products
  • Lead and support on-site Installer teams
  • Ensure service KPIs, warranty priorities, and breakdown response times are met
  • Support people management activities including performance, training, appraisals, and recruitment
  • Manage stock control, equipment checks, and site logistics
  • Maintain accurate service reporting and compliance documentation
  • Liaise professionally with Trust staff and key stakeholders
  • Support additional sites when required
  • Monthly reporting (Hire & Closed Reports, Dashboards, Utilisation, Compliance)
  • Leading monthly site meetings and operational presentations


About You

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical device service/maintenance
  • Previous people management or supervisory experience
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident using IT systems and MS Office
  • Health & Safety focused, with excellent record-keeping skills

Desirable:

  • PAT, LOLER, Manual Handling training
  • NHS or hospital-site experience
  • Stock control and logistics exposure
