Few&Far is looking for a Founding Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job description

Founding Site Reliability Engineer

FinTech Startup

Hybrid-Remote: Central London (3 days per week, City)

£80,000 - £85,000 + Equity + Benefits

Did you know financial fraud costs the UK economy £200bn+ per year, accounting for over 40% of crime in England and Wales?

This early-stage FinTech is on a mission to fight financial crime and reduce scams in online payments

They’re now hiring their first Site Reliability Engineer to build the reliability backbone of the company

The Company

  • 20 people total, 10 Engineers operating across UK and Africa
  • Mission-driven, high-ownership culture
  • Working with highly sensitive financial data

You’ll sit across two engineering teams in different continents, owning reliability end-to-end

The Role: Founding SRE

This is not a maintenance role. You’ll define and implement reliability from scratch:

  • Own monitoring, alerting & observability
  • Lead infrastructure as code strategy
  • Improve fault tolerance & system resilience
  • Support security & compliance initiatives
  • Partner with engineering teams across UK and Africa
  • Build scalable systems ready for growth

Think: secure, fault-tolerant, compliant systems in a regulated environment.

  • Experience in early-stage startups
  • Ideally you've been the first or only SRE in a scaling team
  • Strong product mindset: reliability that drives customer value
  • Experience in regulated or sensitive environments (FinTech, Payments, HealthTech, etc.)
  • Comfortable working across distributed teams

Startup experience is essential. You need to thrive in ambiguity and build structure where none exists.

Why Join?

  • Founding-level ownership
  • Real equity
  • High-impact mission
  • Work on meaningful financial crime problems
  • Shape reliability across a growing, international team

If you want to build resilient infrastructure that directly reduces financial crime, this is your chance. Hit apply with your latests CV!
