Job description

We’re Hiring: Seasonal Field Ecologist (Fixed-Term Contract, Minimum 30-Hours A Week)


Are you passionate about wildlife, conservation, and making a tangible impact in the field? Maydencroft is looking for three Seasonal Field Ecologists to support our growing consultancy team across Letchworth and Windsor, to start in March/April 2026.


This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a close-knit group of ecology, arboriculture, landscape, forestry, and nature recovery specialists delivering surveys and reporting for high-profile clients across commercial, public, private, utility, and charity sectors.


What you will be doing

Bat emergence surveys

Bat transect surveys

Reptile surveys

Great crested newt surveys

Bird nest surveys

Sound and video data analysis of data gathered during surveys

Ecological Clerk of Works

✍Assisting with setting up reports including retrieving and analysing data searches


We’re looking for capable, motivated professionals with developing ecological knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach to fieldwork. A driving licence is essential due to site locations.
