The Role


We are hiring a Junior Buyer to support our buyers with factory sourcing, product development, and production execution across our product categories. This role supports building a reliable, high-quality supplier base and ensuring products are delivered on time, to cost, and to Ripple⁺’s quality standards.


You’ll be responsible for raising the physical purchase orders and sharing them with the relevant suppliers. You will also arrange the 3rd party quality control to ensure inspections are carried out in a timely manner


Reporting


You will support the purchasing team and report back to the buyers and Head of Production. This is an important high-impact role for someone looking to progress into a buyer's role


What You’ll Do


Factory Sourcing & Supplier Management

We require a person who is willing to take on a variety of projects and Identify, evaluate, and onboard suitable factories, primarily in the Far East. Decisions could be a combination of quality, cost, compliance, and capability.

Build supplier relationships and negotiate favourable commercial terms.


Product Development & Production

Manage the full lifecycle of various products from initial sourcing and development through to production. This will include coordinating the sampling, materials selection, costing, timelines, and production readiness.


Quality Control & Compliance

Work closely with the purchasing team to set out the product quality standards, oversee QA and QC processes and coordinate inspections. To support the buyers in order to manage any corrective actions, to ensure that all products meet Ripple⁺’s quality and compliance requirements prior to shipment.


Purchase Orders, Reporting & Coordination

Place and manage purchase orders with a range of different suppliers, track production timelines and coordinate with the purchasing and logistics team. Support and maintain clear reporting and communication between factories, buyers and internal stakeholders.


Ideal Profile

Must-haves:

  • Have some proven experience in sourcing, buying, or production management
  • A willing to learn processes and systems
  • Computer literate including Word & Excel
  • Comfortable working on and analysing spread sheets
  • Support the team as we transfer towards an ERP system and become an integral part as the company moves to a more robust purchasing system
  • Communicative in English and Mandarin

 

You’ll likely to thrive here if you:

  • Have some initial hands-on experience working directly with factories, particularly in the Far East
  • Understand the lifecycle of products from development through to mass production
  • Have some knowledge of QA/QC processes and inspection standards but wish to learn more
  • Are highly organised and able to manage multiple production timelines simultaneously
  • Identify problems or delays at an early stage and share the issues with the stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with suppliers and internal teams
  • Compile reports for internal review & provide recommendations where needed


Extra credit for

  • Some experience in fast-growing consumer brands
  • Experience sourcing home fragrance, wellness, or consumer packaged goods
  • Experience sourcing printed packaging
  • Experience working to UK and international compliance standards
  • Mandarin language capability
