Multi-Skilled Operative – Social Housing Maintenance

Location: Northamptonshire (Depot-Based)

Sector: Public Sector Housing

Contract: Agency | Inside IR35

Duration: 3 months initially (rolling monthly – potential up to 12 months)

Hours: 37 per week (09:00–17:30)

Start Date: ASAP

Pay:

• £16.00 per hour (PAYE)
• £20.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Operative to carry out routine maintenance and repair works within occupied social housing properties across Northamptonshire.

This is a hands-on role suited to a reliable, versatile tradesperson who is confident working independently in tenanted properties.

Core Duties

Carrying out all aspects of routine maintenance, including:

• Carpentry (1st & 2nd fix)
• Basic plumbing repairs
• Tiling and patch plastering
• Bricklaying and minor structural repairs
• Flooring repairs
• Fencing works
• Groundworks and external maintenance

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a multi-trade operative
• Ability to work in occupied properties professionally and respectfully
• Full UK driving licence
• Own basic tools
• Strong problem-solving ability and ability to complete jobs first time

Desirable

• Previous experience working within social housing or local authority environments
• Experience with responsive repairs
