Housing Advice / Prevention / Homelessness Assessment Officer (Locum Role)

Based in West London

£30 - £32.00 per hour

9:00am – 5:00pm - Flexible Working Available

Basic DBS Required

• We are currently seeking an experienced Housing Advice / Prevention / Homelessness Assessment Officer to join a busy Housing Options Service in West London.
• This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional who can hit the ground running and manage a varied caseload within a fast-paced service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver frontline Housing Options advice and homelessness assessments
• Undertake prevention and relief duties under the relevant legislation
• Manage a diverse caseload from initial approach through to resolution
• Conduct homelessness enquiries and investigations
• Draft and issue Section 184 decision letters
• Work as part of the Housing Options Duty Service
• Maintain accurate case records and comply with statutory requirements

Essential Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act
• Proven experience in Housing Options / Homelessness Assessment roles
• Experience conducting homelessness enquiries and casework
• Ability to manage multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
• Experience writing s184 decision letters
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Basic DBS

Working Arrangements

• Flexible working offered by the council
• Initial 2–4 week office-based induction
• After induction, 50% office-based / hybrid working
