Commissioning Manager

Location: Surrey, Reading, Oxford

Contract: Permanent PAYE or Freelance, CIS or Ltd Negotiable

Salary: £95,000–£110,000 + Travel Paid + Annual Leave, Pension, Healthcare etc

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join 3 major projects across the South Eastern Region.

Our client is a leading Tier 1 MEP contractor delivering across 3 flagship schemes, these are a mixture of Laboratories and Commercial projects.

MEP Project Values range from circa £20m to £80m and are expected to run over the next 24 months.

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in mechanical and electrical (M&E) commissioning, ideally with experience delivering complex building services packages on large-scale construction projects valued £15 million and upwards.

The Role: As Commissioning Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the full M&E commissioning process on the notable scheme. You'll work closely with the project team and specialist subcontractors to ensure successful delivery of all building services systems in line with programme and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all commissioning activities across mechanical and electrical systems from pre-commissioning through to handover.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to align commissioning activities.
• Develop and manage the commissioning programme and ensure timely completion.
• Supervise testing, validation, and resolution of any system issues.
• Ensure systems are delivered in line with design intent and relevant compliance standards.
• Report progress and provide regular updates to the senior project team.

Candidate Requirements:

• Extensive experience in MEP commissioning within commercial or large-scale mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services (HVAC, BMS, lighting, power, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage M&E commissioning on projects valued at £15 million and above.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Contractor-side experience is preferred
