About The Role

We're investing in our digital capability to help us deliver modern solutions for our customer and evolving our tech teams. If you want to be a part of this then here’s your opportunity, we’re looking for an IT Service Delivery Specialist to join our Technology team at Hilmore House. The team you’ll work within supports the Innovation, Digital, Online and Productivity teams.


You’ll be responsible for managing the transition and Service Improvements of new or upgraded technologies into support with in-house teams and our Outsourcing Partners. Making sure that the transition methodology is well understood, adhered to and is continuously reviewed to ensure lessons learned are incorporated from each transition / Service Improvement and the methodology updated accordingly.


Here at Morrisons our IT Service Delivery Specialists are accountable for things like this;

  • Working with the innovation, digital and online teams, keeping all stakeholders updated on service transition progress, issues, risks and achievements for allocated projects

  • Continuous improvement of the services and service relationship with the business stakeholders (at “Head of” level)

  • Assists the Service Delivery Manager by engaging with IT colleagues and the business around performance against SLAs, the status of ongoing major incidents, progress against outstanding problems and implemented and upcoming changes

  • Managing, tracking and controlling criteria for service transition activities

  • Making sure changes we implement cause minimal disruption

  • Collating feedback from customers on the effectiveness of the transition to service

  • Working with our stakeholders to build and maintain a Service Improvement list

  • Working with your technology team to deliver detailed transition plans, roadmaps  and Service Improvements through to their completion

  • Ensure that transition activities are recorded, justified, evaluated, authorised, prioritised, planned, tested, implemented and documented

  • Making sure systems are designed to operable, recoverable, and maintainable by the Run in-house and Outsourcing Partners


About You

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful IT Service Delivery Specialist ?

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence a wide range of stakeholders across your functional areas

  • Experience of the full transition management  project life cycle, transitioning large scale projects covering multiple internal teams and multiple vendors, from development into support

  • Experience with a multi-vendor delivery and support model, working in a high change environment

  • Experience of delivering Service Improvements across multiple services and maintaining service improvement plans which drive value to our stakeholders

  • Strong understanding and experience of transition and change management

  • ITILv3 Foundation Framework
