NCS Summer Delivery Workers and Phase Leaders in Gloucester

This summer Young Gloucestershire are hosting over 1000 young people as part of the National Citizen Service. We are looking for staff who will lead, inspire and motivate young people during this exciting summer programme. You will support young people to: •Grow in confidence during two residential. •Plan, fundraise and deliver a community project. •Stay safe and happy throughout the programme. •Report on their success. What are you going to do:

To lead a Team of up to 15 individuals with support of another Delivery Worker through the NCS programme. The Delivery Worker facilitates and encourages young people’s achievements, while guiding each NCS member on an individual learning journey.

Phase Leaders are required to lead a group of teams through the residential phase of the summer programme. Each team will consist of 2 Delivery Workers and up to 15 NCS participants. Phase Leaders will oversee the delivery of all activities at the residential centre and support Delivery Worker staff.

The National Citizen Service (NCS) Programme is designed to develop the skills of young people at the cusp of adulthood, while improving social cohesion and making an impact locally.

Week 1 - Monday-Friday outward bound residential

Week 2 - Monday-Friday skills development residential

Week 3-4 - Planning and delivering community based social action projects

Delivery Workers will support teams of up to 15 young people aged 16-17, with support from another Delivery Worker, through a 4 week programme, including 2 Monday-Friday residential trips. They will also help to facilitate the young people in their planning and delivery of a social action project in their local communities.

Phase Leaders will be based at residential centres across the summer, for up to 6 weeks, supporting the Delivery Workers and ensure the smooth running of the programme, including taking a lead role on the management of safeguarding concerns.

Transport, food and accommodation included while on residential weeks.

Programme dates are as follows:

  • Wave 1 – 2/7-28/7
  • Wave 2 – 9/7-3/8
  • Wave 3 – 16/7-10/8
  • Wave 4 – 23/7-17/8
  • Wave 5 – 30/7-24/8
  • Wave 6 – 6/8-31/8
