Junior Software Engineer - .Net / AngularLocation: London (Hybrid)We're looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join a London-based specialist insurer and reinsurer focused on high-risk, high-capacity commercial insurance and reinsurance solutions.Their core platforms are built using the latest versions of .NET, Angular, and SQL Server , and you'll gain exposure to modern engineering practices in a real-world, business-critical environment.What You'll Be Doing Monitoring the Ignite platform, investigating issues, performing root-cause analysis, and delivering robust fixesSupporting the design and development of new features and modules using .NET Core and AngularWriting, optimising, and maintaining SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and schema changesTaking part in peer code reviews and writing unit tests to maintain high engineering standardsMaintaining clear technical documentation, including APIs and database structuresCollaborating with engineers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutionsWhat We're Looking For Core skills and experience:C# and .NET Core / .NET FrameworkAngular (TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS)Strong understanding of relational databases and T-SQL (SQL Server)Version control experience with Git / BitbucketExperience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs (XML / JSON)Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and toolingFamiliarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologiesUnderstanding of development practices such as TDD, DevOps , and modern testing approachesYou'll also bring:A logical, persistent approach to troubleshootingThe ability to turn user stories and requirements into working solutionsConfidence working with cross-functional teams and competing prioritiesClear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersCuriosity, self-motivation, and a desire to continuously improve as an engineerExperience within Lloyd's of London, General Insurance, or Financial Services is highly desirable.
