International Royalty Accountant - Fanatics Collectibles

Overview Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a Royalty Senior Accountant / Accountant to support the growing complexity of our international royalty accounting and reporting processes. This role will play a critical part in strengthening controls, improving balance sheet accuracy, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, particularly for international agreements. This is a full time role, in the designated office 5 days per week.Key Responsibilities Royalty Accounting & Reporting Prepare and review royalty calculations across multiple international regions and partnersManage royalty reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely submission in accordance with contractual requirementsPrepare royalty payment support packages, ensuring appropriate documentation of contract terms and calculationsSupport intercompany recharge processes and coordinate royalty-related paymentsContract Management & Compliance Review and interpret licensing and partnership agreements to ensure accurate financial reportingMonitor and track contractual obligations, including complex and non-standard termsMaintain and support contract cost amortization schedulesAssist with accounting for fixed fees, sponsorships, marketing agreements, and other contractual arrangementsBalance Sheet & Financial Controls Perform balance sheet reconciliationsPerform prepaid versus accrued royalty analysisConsolidate prepaid and accrued royalty decksSupport balance sheet clean-up initiatives and strengthen overall accounting controlsSystems, Reporting & Analysis Perform analytical review, reconciliation, and documentation to ensure sales data accuracy and alignment to accounting systemSupport preparation of International Future Obligations ScheduleQualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience (Senior Accountant level preferred)Experience with royalty accounting, contract accounting, or revenue/accrual-based accounting strongly preferredStrong understanding of accruals, prepaids, and amortization accountingExperience with ERP systems and financial reporting toolsAdvanced Excel skills; PowerBI experience preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex contractual languageKey Competencies Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret non-standard contract termsAbility to manage multiple deadlines across regions and partnersProcess improvement mindset with focus on strengthening controlsEffective communicator across accounting, FP&A, legal, and operations teamsThe above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.Subject to applicable laws, Fanatics Collectibles may choose to run a background check.Ensure your Fanatics job offer is legitimate and don't fall victim to fraud.
