Crew Travel Consultant (Fixed Term-12 months) in Manchester

Reports to: Travel Services Manager      

Sub Function: Travel Services

Location: Hangar, Manchester

Working hours: 31.5 hrs per week

Role purpose: Coordinate all Thomas Cook crew travel arrangements in accordance with EASA regulations

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • To source and book flights, hotels and all transport requirements for all rostered Thomas Cook Airlines crew via in house and external travel systems.
  • Undertake daily checks to ensure all travel arrangements are finalised and transport methods are not duplicated.
  • To book travel arrangements in the most cost efficient way without jeopardising  OTP measures.
  • To communicate both verbally and written, directly to crew, suppliers and cross departmentally to clarify travel options and processes are followed.
  • To  prioritise workload on a day to day basis and be able to react  and in the event of disruption.

Skills, know-how and experience :

Must have:

  • Good communication and influencing skills         
  • Driven, motivated and flexible
  • Ability to problem solve and react to change dependent upon circumstance
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS)
  • Ability to understand and be responsive to the customer

Key performance indicators:

  • 100% of requirements booked in line with all travel requests and in line with cost constraints and OTP measures.
  • All bookings actioned in a timely manner whilst taking advantage of the most cost effective hotel/travel option
