Job description

We are currently working with a specialist insurer who is looking to hire an Analyst into its Credit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analyst looking to build a career in a niche area of underwriting. The role offers a mix of credit analysis and underwriting support, and would suit someone with strong academic credentials, good financial literacy, and a genuine interest in credit risk, financial markets, and the wider economic environment.

The role will also involve supporting the day-to-day underwriting process, including portfolio administration, reporting, and maintaining accurate records.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Supporting the review of transactions, financial statements, and credit data
  • Assisting with underwriting submissions and broader risk assessment
  • Carrying out research into macroeconomic, market, and geopolitical developments
  • Maintaining accurate records across new business, renewals, endorsements, and documentation
  • Producing reporting and analysis to support underwriting decisions and team activity
  • Supporting the wider portfolio and day-to-day underwriting processes

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant subject such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, Maths, Physics, or similar
  • A strong academic background, with postgraduate study being advantageous
  • Internship or early career experience within banking, finance, insurance, credit, or another analytical environment
  • Good financial literacy, including the ability to interpret financial statements
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A genuine interest in macroeconomics, geopolitics, private credit, or debt markets
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning

This is a strong opportunity to join a highly regarded team in a specialist area, with genuine scope for development.
