Our Client is a leading London Market Insurer Specialising in Medical Professional Liability Insurance looking for an Assistant Company Secretary to join a growing, fast-paced organisation operating across the UK and Ireland. This role offers fantastic exposure to senior stakeholders and board-level activity, making it ideal for someone looking to deepen their experience in corporate governance and compliance.


What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support the Head of Compliance / Company Secretary in delivering high-quality governance and regulatory support, including:


Board & Committee Support

  • Preparing agendas and coordinating meetings
  • Producing and distributing board packs (via Diligent)
  • Attending meetings and drafting accurate minutes
  • Tracking and following up on key actions

Company Secretarial & Governance

  • Managing the corporate calendar
  • Drafting resolutions and statutory filings
  • Handling Companies House / CRO submissions (e.g. Director changes, confirmation statements, accounts)
  • Supporting governance framework improvements
  • Assisting with board evaluations, conflicts of interest, and policy reviews

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Supporting filings to regulators (PRA, FCA, CBI)
  • Assisting with data protection and regulatory returns
  • Maintaining internal registers (e.g. Gifts & hospitality)
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a company secretarial or governance role
  • Background in insurance or financial services (preferred)
  • Degree educated (or equivalent)
  • ICSA / CGI qualification (or working towards it)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to handle sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
