The Role

We are recruiting a Site Quality Manager for a complex food manufacturing operation in West Wales. This is the most senior Technical / Quality position on site, reporting directly to the Factory Manager.

You will take full ownership of food safety, quality, legality and compliance, while leading and developing the site technical function and driving a strong food safety culture across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead site-wide food safety & quality strategy, ensuring compliance with BRCGS, customer and legal standards

· Own and develop the HACCP system, ensuring best practice implementation

· Drive a proactive food safety culture across all departments

· Lead and develop the Technical / Quality team

· Manage audits (customer, third-party, regulatory) with strong outcomes

· Oversee supplier approval, raw material compliance, and specifications

· Manage on-site microbiology & analytical lab operations

· Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives across quality and compliance

· Maintain strong relationships with customers and local authorities

· Manage departmental budget and cost control

Skills & Experience

· Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related discipline

· Proven experience in a senior Technical / Quality role within food manufacturing

· Strong working knowledge of HACCP, VACCP, TACCP

· Experience leading BRCGS and customer audits

· Demonstrated leadership and team development capability

· Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills

· Ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights

· Advanced HACCP (Level 4) preferred
