Job description
Reed.co.uk is looking for an Account Executive to join their team in Manchester.
Up to £35,500 basic salary per annum plus uncapped commission.
Overview
At reed.co.uk, we’re passionate about helping businesses find the right people and candidates find the right opportunities. We’re looking for an Account Executive to join our Manchester team, playing a key role in building strong, long-term partnerships with recruitment consultancies.
This is a varied and commercially focused role, combining account management, customer success, and business development. You’ll work closely with existing clients to support their hiring goals, while also re-engaging lapsed customers and identifying growth opportunities.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing and growing relationships with existing customers
- Supporting clients with data insights, platform usage, and recruitment strategies
- Delivering against agreed customer success plans
- Renewing and upselling customer contracts with growth potential
- Running trials of new products and converting them into long-term solutions
- Re-engaging churned customers and generating new business where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and account plans
- Mapping accounts, forecasting renewals, and identifying revenue opportunities
- Meeting clients face-to-face and delivering Quarterly Business Reviews
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in account management, sales, or business development
- A strong track record in retaining, growing, and winning back clients
- Confidence using data to influence decisions and guide customers
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
- Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and externally
- Comfortable working autonomously with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Experience in face-to-face client meetings (essential)
- Recruitment industry experience (desirable but not essential)
How you’ll work
This role offers flexibility, but also requires independence and accountability:
- You’ll manage your own time and priorities, working autonomously day-to-day
- Regular support includes daily team huddles and weekly 1:1s
- Office attendance in Manchester is flexible (no fixed days, but team presence is maintained)
- There is a strong expectation of regular face-to-face client meetings, so you’ll need to be proactive and confident meeting clients in person
Training & onboarding
- Your first 1–2 weeks will be based in London for onboarding and training
- This will involve in-person sessions and meeting key stakeholders
- You’ll need to be comfortable staying away during this period (weekends excluded)
What success looks like
- Retaining and growing your customer base
- Increasing account value through upsell and renewals
- Successfully re-engaging lapsed clients
- Delivering strong customer feedback and engagement
- Maintaining high levels of sales activity and client coverage
Additional requirements
- A strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a target-driven environment
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a supportive, coaching-led team
- Willingness and ability to travel for client meetings
- Access to a vehicle (desirable)
