HGV Class 2 Driver – Stockport

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Stockport.

This is an excellent short-term opportunity for an HGV Class 2 Driver, offering great rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment.

This role would suit applicants seeking a position as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, or Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Day and night work
• 7-day operation

Rates of Pay:

• £15.23 per hour – days
• £21.75 per hour – Sunday days
• £17.98 per hour – nights
• £25.98 per hour – Sunday nights

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 2 Driver will include:

• Safely and efficiently operating Category C vehicles
• Delivering food products to store locations
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Reporting any vehicle defects or issues to management
• Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Complying with all driving regulations and working time directives
• Completing all required paperwork accurately

Essential Skills:

The skills required to be an HGV Class 2 Driver are:

• A valid UK Category C driving licence
• A minimum of one year's experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver
• A valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10 codes)
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Desirable Experience:

• More than two years' Category C driving experience

Training:

• Paid site induction
• Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout the assignment
