About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Accounting, Controls & Payments team in Bradford, as Team Leader - Payments and Treasury Back Office.

You will be required to:  

  • Manage & develop the Payments & Treasury Back Office team.

  • Coordinate offshore activities, control supplier payments, and manage the onshore team, with full responsibility for the operation of the Treasury back office.

  • Specifically monitor compliance against Treasury contractual obligations and Treasury Policy.

  • Manage team activities to meet our internal timetable for accounting, reporting, & GSCOP commitments to suppliers.

  • Take responsibility for project work to speed up and simplify our processes.

  • The role will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient processing of payments & treasury transactions. A key part of this role is to manage stakeholders, develop systems, processes, and controls within Morrisons to meet best practice.

About You

You will preferably be a qualified Accountant through either CIMA, ACA or ACCA. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment solving problems and working to tight deadlines, therefore time management skills are a must. You will love working as part of a team, and interacting with colleagues and key stakeholders at all levels across the business, internal and external to Finance. You will have had previous experience of managing an operational finance team.

You will be enthusiastic about Finance, and have the drive and ambition to influence change and efficiency. You will have excellent attention to detail allowing you to look at the bigger picture, and a focus on robust financial control. You will be proficient in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office, in particular Google Sheets/Excel, and Oracle.
