Job DescriptionBarkers Hairdressing & Beauty Suppliers has been an established Hair & Beauty wholesaler for 40 years. We operate a business‐to‐business model and strictly supply to trade & professionals only. We have 5 branches across East Anglia with field sales account managers based at each site. We have training facilities at each branch where we provide leading hair and beauty education. We pride ourselves on working with our customers to help their businesses thrive. We are an official Matrix Supplier offering a competitive service within our targeted territories. Due to continual growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and self‐motivated individual to join our team in our Peterborough branch.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your sales expertise within a vibrant environment, engaging with diverse customers and contributing to the overall success of our store.
Duties
Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
Provide detailed product information and demonstrate features where applicable
Upsell additional items to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with company guidelines
Process transactions accurately using the point‐of‐sale system, ensuring proper cash handling and phone etiquette
Organise stock levels, restock shelves, and ensure the store is tidy and welcoming at all times
Manage customer enquiries and take orders both in person and via telephone efficiently and professionally
Keep up‐to‐date with product knowledge to advise customers effectively
Support the team with organisational tasks such as inventory checks and promotional displays
May be required to cover holiday delivery duties so a full driving licence is essential
With 3 years experience
Picking, packing and processing orders
Heavy lifting is required
Requirements
Fluency in English
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers
Organised with excellent time‐management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
Experience in merchandising or retail sales is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Demonstrated organisational skills to maintain a well‐presented store environment
Ability to demonstrate good phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone
Proven ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer experience and sales performance
