Housing Support WorkerA rewarding opportunity for a compassionate Support Worker to deliver housing support, tenancy management and resident care within a supported accommodation setting, helping individuals build independence and achieve long-term housing stability.

SALARY: £25,500 pro rata (Actual Salary for 20 Hours per Week, £13,783 per annum) + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid with your time split working from home and the office in Gravesend, Kent (DA12) – candidates will need to live within a commutable distance to Gravesend

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 20 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday (flexible on days and times to work – will be discussed during interview)

JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join a supported accommodation service focused on helping residents transition into long-term independent living.

As a Housing Support Worker you will provide practical and emotional support, assisting individuals with tenancy sustainment, life skills, and access to community services. You will work in a trauma informed way, promoting wellbeing and independence.

Working as a Housing Support Worker you will support residents both face‐to‐face and remotely, contributing to housing management, safeguarding, and personalised support plans.

The role involves collaboration with external agencies, ensuring residents receive the support needed to achieve positive outcomes and maintain stable accommodation.

DUTIES

Provide Resident Support: Deliver day-to-day housing support to help residents build independence and confidence

Assist with Life Skills: Support budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and managing appointments

Offer Emotional Support: Listen without judgement and help residents navigate challenges

Develop Support Plans: Contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and personalised support strategies

Promote Safeguarding: Ensure a safe and supportive living environment at all times

Liaise with Agencies: Work with local authorities, landlords and partner services to secure long-term housing outcomes

Encourage Community Engagement: Support access to education, employment and community activities

Maintain Records: Keep accurate case notes, reports and documentation

Conduct Audits: Ensure compliance with supported accommodation standards and policies

Respond to Incidents: Act appropriately in emergencies following organisational procedures

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIAL

Previous experience in support work, social care, housing support or a similar role

Knowledge of housing legislation, benefits systems and tenancy processes

Understanding of safeguarding, risk management and working with vulnerable individuals

Strong IT skills including case management systems and remote working tools

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Experience maintaining accurate records and producing clear reports

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

DESIRABLE

Experience delivering trauma informed support

Experience working in a psychologically informed environment

Confidence engaging with external stakeholders such as local authorities and support agencies

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with the additional barred list check. All required checks will be undertaken as part of the pre‐employment process for any successful candidate.
