Oxfam Festival Volunteer

Become an Oxfam festival volunteer and make amazing things happen – not just for one weekend, but for life. Because every shift you do helps people all over the world to live their lives free from poverty. You’ll discover a community of like-minded people who love festivals and want to give something back. You’ll also get all the training you need, secure crew camping, a meal voucher for every shift, hot showers, toilets, tea and coffee, and phone charging.

What we offer:

  • The chance to work with up to 5 of your friends/family!
  • Meal voucher for every shift
  • Work that improves the lives of those in poverty.
  • Hot showers every day
  • Tea and coffee on shift
  • Free phone charging

What are you going to do

By becoming an Oxfam steward, you’ll play a rewarding role in making sure every festival runs smoothly. You could be providing directions, checking wristbands, monitoring arenas and venues, or patrolling campsites. You’ll be on viewing platforms, up fire towers, or roaming around the site as part of the response team.

We ask you to do three shifts per festival, and each shift is eight hours long. You’ll usually do one day shift, one evening shift, and one night shift across the course of the event.

Stewarding is our largest operation, so if you have a favourite festival we are likely to have the most spaces in this role.

You can also add up to 5 friends to be shift partners in the second part of the application which will become live in April. We will always try our best to make sure you are always on shift at the same times as your shift partners, however, we can't guarantee your duties will be based in the same location. This is a great way to enjoy the festival with you friends or even you family!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to camping and looking to do something different, you can join our volunteer team at music festivals across the UK.

Please note you will have to provide a one off refundable security deposit of which covers the cost of the festival ticket ranging from £110-£280. Your deposit will be refunded 4-6 weeks after the completion of your final festival shifts.

All our volunteers need to be trained every four years by attending a 3-hour full session. The training will ensure you feel confident to steward and you will be able to meet others who will also be volunteering this summer!
