Site Engineer

Contract Scotland is looking for a Site Engineer

Job description

A fantastic opportunity for a Site Engineer to join a highly respected civil engineering contractor with an outstanding reputation for developing and retaining its people. This is a business where people stay, progress, and build long-term careers — not just move from project to project.

You’ll be working across 2–3 live sites at any one time across the West of Scotland, all within commuting distance, meaning you’re home every night. This is a role with real variety, responsibility, and progression potential from day one.

Why this role stands out

  • Exceptional training and hands-on mentorship from experienced senior engineers and contracts managers
  • Clear and supported career progression — the business actively promotes from within
  • Very low staff turnover, reflecting a positive, supportive working environment
  • Exposure to a wide range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Opportunity to grow into more senior engineering or site management roles

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out using Trimble equipment
  • Supporting delivery across multiple live sites
  • Ensuring works are built to specification and design
  • Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and main contractors
  • Maintaining quality assurance and site documentation
  • Supporting health & safety compliance on site

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering
  • Comfortable using Trimble (or similar GPS/survey equipment)
  • Full UK driving licence

Candidates from all civil engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply — attitude and ambition matter more than sector experience.

What’s on Offer

  • Long-term career development and structured training
  • Secure pipeline of work across Scotland
  • Supportive, stable team environment with low attrition
