Marketing & Communications Intern in Edinburgh
Beyond Borders Scotland is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to volunteer for approximately three to four months, with a suggested start date of April/early May 2018. The ideal candidate will have an interest in; social media, digital marketing and communications, website content and development, and copywriting. An interest in international affairs and cultural events would also be advantageous.
What are you going to do:
Beyond Borders Scotland is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to volunteer for approximately three to four months, with a suggested start date of April/early May 2018. The ideal candidate will have an interest in; social media, digital marketing and communications, website content and development, and copywriting. An interest in international affairs and cultural events would also be advantageous.
During the period of the internship, the successful candidate will work closely with the team in the promotion and marketing of the annual Beyond Borders International Festival, which takes place in August. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in this, and other related events, as well as design their own strategies for outreach.

- At least finished high school
- Demonstrated interest in communication, promotion and outreach (Essential)
- Highly organised, proactive and able to pay close attention to detail (Essential)
- Passion for and a good understanding of social media (Essential)
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Essential)
- Exceptional written and verbal skills (Essential)
- The ability work on one's own and as part of a team (Essential)
- Graduate or student in a Communications related subject (Desirable)
- Experience of Web Content Management Systems (Desirable)
- Interest in International Affairs and cultural events (Desirable)
- Previous communications, promotion or event management experience is not essential but would be an advantage (Desirable)

Other Information
Beyond Borders is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to facilitating dialogue and international cultural exchange. Beyond Borders works across several different mediums including literature, performing & visual arts, heritage, film and dialogue. The internship will be on a part-time basis, 2 – 3 days per week. The candidate would also need to be available from 23rd-27th August.
