Salary: £30k + Commission

Overview of the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Delegate Sales Executive to join a growing team focused on delivering high-quality industry events, webinars, and professional networking opportunities. The organisation is entering a new phase of expansion, building on the successful launch of several sector-focused events and digital programmes.

The role plays a key part in driving attendance and engagement across a portfolio of conferences, webinars, roundtables, and industry briefings. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and engaging relevant audiences, building targeted contact lists, and conducting proactive outreach to secure high-quality delegates.

Joining the team at this stage offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of an expanding events portfolio and play a meaningful role in developing audience engagement strategies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop call scripts, research prospects, build targeted contact lists, and conduct outreach through calls and emails to secure high-quality delegates for events and webinars.
  • Research and build targeted lists for conferences, awards, and webinars while gaining familiarity with audience segmentation.
  • Conduct direct outreach to secure attendance for full-day summits, half-day briefings, roundtables, and client-hosted lunches or dinners.
  • Engage senior industry professionals for primarily complimentary delegate places, while also communicating with vendor organisations regarding paid attendance opportunities.
  • Attend events to network with delegates, strengthen professional relationships, and support a community-focused approach.
  • Identify vendor-side contacts and initiate conversations that may lead to commercial opportunities related to event or webinar sponsorship.
  • Monitor industry and editorial channels for relevant contacts (such as quoted experts or senior executives) and engage them to build the wider community.
  • Track campaign performance and engagement levels throughout outreach activities and conduct post-event analysis.
  • Continuously update and expand the contact database through research and data mining.
  • Use social media platforms to engage target audiences and identify potential new contacts.
  • Work closely with editorial and marketing teams on outreach initiatives that support broader product and audience growth strategies.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in B2B events, with a proven track record of securing delegates for conferences, briefings, webinars, or similar formats.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and audience segments simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot experience is advantageous), including data entry, list building, segmentation, and performance tracking.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team.
  • Comfortable working in deadline-driven environments, maintaining quality and consistency under pressure.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, particularly when working with senior delegates, speakers, or sponsors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively to team culture.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while aligning with wider team goals.
